Being the Coach

This is what the team got for me for coaching the Swingin' Bats. I LOVE it!!! They went to the pottery place and each put their fingerprint under a bat that was drawn on and their name next to it. Then they signed a softball. The lighting wasn't that great, so bear with this until I get a better one. I love my team...

Not Much New

I've been busy, but not doing much. My friend from high school is getting married in June, so i'm working on a surprise for her. I'll try to share it when it's finished. I went to the Round Rock Express game on Sunday with the softball team and had so much fun. I don't know why I don't go more often. I'm exhausted and should be fnishing my project since I leave on Friday morning...early...yuck. I was starting to "almost" be on someone's bad blog list...so I had to update my loyal readers.

Look What I Found!

It's my senior group picture. One of these was in the yearbook. I don't think it was this particular pose...

This is my posse.

Ok, time for bed...

Stolen

I took these pictures from Ruth's Photographers website. Oops...but people want to see!

Internet

I finally have cable and internet at my house! I no longer have to go somewhere to watch my shows. Too bad the seasons are all over! Oh well, there's always the Braves to watch! I don't have any pictures, or updates. Sunday the Swingin' Bats are going to the Round Rock Express game to be recognized, run around the bases and get free gloves. So that'll be fun for them. I just got home from a softball game. I popped up 3 times. I can't hit a ball on the ground to save my life...

Going to shower, watch the Bachelor and hopefully get some sleep.

Something new...but needs to be returned

I picked up my rug yesterday and this morning I unrolled it and put it in the living room. It was dwarfed by the room. It is too small! I was bummed out earlier today, but after a call was made to The Great Rug Company for the difference in price from a 6x9 to an 8x11 I can re-order without any additional fees. Big sigh of relief for me! Today was one of the first days in the last couple of months that I haven't had to think about or breathe softball. Last night I had a game and we were down 9-1 in the second inning. With a few errors and some clutch hitting we were able to come back and win 10-9. It was exciting. My women's team is undefeated this season. YAY for us! Random thought of the day...Ben & Jerry's Sweet Cream & Cookies is the greatest ice cream ever...really.

I found out that My Luna loves lasers. She chases them up and down the stairs and jumps at the walls. I have video and it's hilarious. I will upload a link to YouTube for your viewing pleasure later.

And an update with the bag o' poo...I got a brand new Nike bag last night. It's red and awesome.

Finally Clean

I was able to spend yesterday cleaning and building stuff. This is what the place looks like now...
The entertainment center was built, the towel hooks were hung and the office was put together. Finally it feels somewhat complete and put together. I got an awesome trashcan, but forgot to take a picture of it. Yes, I just said awesome to describe a trashcan. But it is!

New Pond Visitor

I stopped by Tamara's to pick something up this afternoon and as I always do, I walked up to the pond. Normally there are dragonflys and butterflies, but today there was a new visitor. One I hadn't ever seen before. There was a fuzzy baby duck swimming around the pond. It was terrified of me and swam so fast to get away. It hid under the overhand of rocks around the pond and only when I sat perfectly still for a minute did it become brave enough to swim around and play with the water and leaves. It ate water bugs and dunked its fuzzy little head in the cool water. It'd be so great if the duck found a new pond home. Tam couldn't figure out how it got to the pond in her front yard and when I told her it had left and said "it probably flew away" she responded with, "oh yeah, I forgot ducks could fly". Then the image of this little tiny duck waddling it's way down the driveway made me laugh.

This butterfly also held still long enough & wasn't scared of me. So I was able to get closer.

Explosions of the Natural Kind

Last Tuesday night at my softball game I was on the bleachers getting my shoes on to warm up before my game. As i'm sitting there looking down, tying my shoes I hear the people behind me all moan. I look up and see a large puppy squating 3 feet away from me. At first, I thought "oh great, my bag was peed on, wonderful". Then I looked closer. It wasn't pee, but horribleness that projected out of this dog. The dog was half a foot away from my bag and like a bottle of champagne exploded it's ingredients onto my bag. It. Was. NASTY! I was shocked and speechless. I just sat there looking at it wondering what to do. Christian started to laugh and told me I was being more calm than she would be. Then Carol said "i'm SURE they'll clean it for you!" Loud enough for the guy to hear that was holding the dog's leash. He got up and went to get some towels. I got up to warm up. Trying to figure out what to do. They offered to get me a new bag. They didn't even want to clean it it was so revolting. So I put my stuff in a pile (no pun intended) while I played my game and after the game crammed it all into 3 plastic shopping bags. I looked like a homeless softball player.

So my new nickname, from Christian, "Kpoo"...

Camera Cord!

I found my cord and am able to upload pictures now. Well, they're are a few pictures. They are with things inside the rooms. The living room is already changing, but haven't had a chance to take a picture of it yet. The entertainment center is 1/3 finished and hopefully this weekend will bring the completion. The cats have made themselves at home. I don't want to hear any comments about Zoey's little head and enormous body. I purposely picked a picture that made her look HUGE!

Exhausted

Unfortunately, not much new on the home front. I have a third of my new entertainment center built. I had softball tonight and softball tomorrow to coach and play. So I'm thinking the end of the week is looking better for building entertainment centers. I was playing around "my pond" (Tamara's pond that I have started to care too much about). I took some pictures of the first bloom of the season.

Yesterday I went to see STOMP. It was as great as I anticipated. I will sell a Kidney, if I have to, to see it next time I have the opportunity. It was that good. It made you want to hit everything you passed as you walked out of the theatre.

I can't find the cord to my camera yet, so pictures of boxes in rooms will have to wait. But I have pictures of mutant tadpoles. The tadpole is 3.5 inches long and has back legs sprouting...so far i've seen two in the pond. I know there have got to be more.

Bitten

So my first blog only seems fitting to be overrun by the no-see-ums, fire ant & mesquito bites. I figured if I had something to occupy myself with I wouldn't constantly be applying the Benadryl no itch cream. On Thursday I got an entertainment center and hot water! My water heater's gas line had air in it and my project manager for the complex had a family emergency. So the phone calls I was making weren't getting to anyone. I called the company and they had someone call me that was taking over for the PM at my complex. He cleared the air out of the line and I was able to take a shower at my new house last night for the first time! It was exciting stuff. I used my squeegy & clean shower. Yes, it was a little bit much for the first time, but it was FUN. I started building the new entertainment center last night after the lil' girls' softball team. They won something like 14-6. It was great, but about 1000% humidity and nasty. I will be adding pictures as soon as I can figure out how, charge my camera and upload my pictures. I don't have internet or cable yet, so i'm borrowing Tamara's connection. I can't go very long without the internet. My heart starts to slow down.

This is all for now...pictures to come.
